Rambling:to take a course with many turns or windings
I am often asked to share recipes for food and home products(ie, laundry soap and cookies), as well as random bits of information I have learned and researched. (If you are familiar with Gallup’s Strengths Finder, I am an “input” so this will tell you a little bit about how my brain works!) Our family is among the ranks of the homeschooling crowd and that is almost worthy of its own site altogether! I needed a place to easily share these things with the many people who ask. So, in the way of ramblings you will find a varitable pluthera of information and thoughts. I can’t guarantee that there will be any apparent theme to this area of my postings, but I can guarantee that I am just sharing what I use, know and have learned in some very practical areas as a housewife, home educator, stay at home Mom, and just a penny pinching, deal hunting, somewhat eco-friendly girl.
Rhema:the spoken word of God
In my journey to know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, one of the great disciplines that I believe to be the life blood of any true disciple of Christ is a daily time of prayer and Bible study. While the “rhema” part of this site sometimes will come from lessons I learn while going about my daily duties in running a household and the Lord sending a simple, yet powerful, epiphany, much of it will come from the great privilege of sitting and listening intently to the voice of my Shepherd through the Holy Spirit. I don’t claim to be a great theologian, by any means, but I do have a deep passion for inductive Bible study as I believe with all my heart that, as Hebrews 4:12 states “…the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
It is, therefore, my daily task and life goal, to ever gain a greater understanding of the Word of God through study, prayer and the “rhema” that comes as the Holy Spirit uses His two-edged sword to pierce my heart and reveal my inner life for what it is. You may love what I have to say in this….but you may also hate it. I encourage you to do your own study and research before you judge what you read here. I further encourage you not to put the God of the Bible, the Creator of the universe, the Lover of your soul into the box of your own personal experience. For this may be the greatest mistake any of us can make. I am not here to argue or convince. I am simply here to share what I am learning and what I see as I take a nakedly vulnerable look at myself, my God and the world in which I live. It is in this spirit that I ask for your respect if you choose to leave a comment. I promise that my posts will be carefully prayed over to assure that my motives for posting are pure and only with the intent of sharing. If you have a problem or question about something I share, please don’t hesitate to comment or email, but please do not be offended if I choose not to allow it to be posted for the world to see. I will happily discuss it in a different arena….for I am, myself, still learning, but desire not to place any unnecessary stumbling block before anyone lest they fall.
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
