Neen’s Bookshelf

This year,  I decided I wanted to, once again, pick up a hobby I have had since childhood.  Since I was old enough to read I have always had my nose buried in the dusty pages of an old classic or in the crisp binding of a historical fiction novel, non-fiction Christian book, biography, autobiography or, my personal favorite, the age old Scriptures that feed my very soul. But, in recent years, the demands of marriage, motherhood and ministry have taken priority over most of this leisure reading….pretty much all but my regular Bible reading.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my life.  I am so blessed and wouldn’t have it any other way, but I have long grieved the quiet moments to stimulate my brain and quiet my mind.  And so I resolved to make time again. (I’ll admit, my husband saving up and buying me a Kindle certainly didn’t hurt this new resolve to feed my inner introvert. 😉

As I began searching for the first books to add to my new list of “must reads”  I came across an offer from one of the publishers I enjoy asking me to join their book review program in return for free eBooks each month.  Hmmm, let me think about that….OK!!!!!  So, a journey of reading both for pleasure and perks begins!  If you choose to read the reviews, please note that I usually do not have the liberty to choose what books to read and, therefore, some may be WAY more intriguing than others.  However, I promise to be honest and sincere.  I have only completed a few books so far but I am enjoying immensly to opportunity to be challenged in something I truly enjoy while also being exposed to different thoughts and views on what the Lord God of the Bible is doing and has done.
