A few years back I decided I wanted to, once again, pick up a hobby I have had since childhood. Since I was old enough to read I have always had my nose buried in the dusty pages of an old classic or in the crisp binding of a historical fiction novel, non-fiction Christian book, biography, autobiography or, my personal favorite, the age old Scriptures that feed my very soul. But, in recent years, the demands of marriage, motherhood and ministry have taken priority over most of this leisure reading….pretty much all but my regular Bible reading. Don’t get me wrong, I love my life. I am so blessed and wouldn’t have it any other way, but I have long grieved the quiet moments to stimulate my brain and quiet my mind. And so I resolved to make time again. (I’ll admit, my husband saving up and buying me a Kindle certainly didn’t hurt this new resolve to feed my inner introvert. 😉
I have only completed a few books so far but I am enjoying immensly to opportunity to be challenged in something I truly enjoy while also being exposed to different thoughts and views on what the Lord God of the Bible is doing and has done.
